NVIDIA released a new GeForce Game Ready driver that updates how players experience several major titles. This release matters because it adds support for the latest game updates and introduces advanced rendering features that can significantly boost frame rates. Gamers using compatible NVIDIA GPUs can now access these optimizations without waiting for in-game patches.
New driver adds DLSS 4.5 and optimizes Modern Warfare 4
The update is version 617.42 and targets specific software environments. NVIDIA optimized the driver for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Sim Update 7, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, and Valor Mortis. These titles benefit from driver-level adjustments that smooth out performance bottlenecks.
A key technical addition is DLSS 4.5, which includes Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution. The driver also supports Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, allowing up to 6X frame generation. These technologies work together to enhance visual fidelity and responsiveness in supported games.
NVIDIA reports a 7.5X performance increase at 4K compared with native rendering. This claim applies to Gears of War: E-Day when using 6X Multi Frame Generation and Ultra ray tracing settings. The improvement demonstrates the potential of combining frame generation with ray tracing at high resolutions.
We previously covered the NVIDIA GeForce 616.56 Driver Adds DLSS in our earlier Nvidia coverage. That update laid the groundwork for the current DLSS 4.5 integration seen in version 617.42. The progression shows NVIDIA's continued focus on AI-driven rendering technologies.
Users can obtain the update via the NVIDIA App or GeForce Experience. Users can install it to access the new game optimizations and DLSS features. This release ensures compatibility with the latest software updates and hardware capabilities.
