007 First Light Path Tracing Requires RTX 5070, Targets 4K 200+ FPS

IO Interactive has released a major PC visual update for 007 First Light that adds full path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction. This update brings ray-traced lighting to the James Bond origin story, which the developer delayed from the game's May launch to optimize performance. Gamers who want to experience these advanced graphics will need to upgrade their hardware significantly, as the new features demand substantial processing power.

Major PC visual update adds full path tracing and DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction

The update introduces full path tracing, a rendering technique that simulates the physical behavior of light for more realistic visuals. To support this, IO Interactive has integrated NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, which uses AI to improve the reconstruction and cleanup of ray-traced image data. The patch also includes DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to help maintain high frame rates.

NVIDIA recommends GeForce RTX 50-series desktop GPUs to run these features effectively. The minimum requirement for path tracing is an RTX 5070, while the recommended setting is an RTX 5080. For Path Tracing Ultra settings, users need an RTX 5090. The update targets 4K resolution at 200+ FPS when using DLSS 4.5 with the Ultra configuration.

CPU requirements for Path Tracing Ultra are an Intel Core i5-13600K or an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X. The minimum CPU tier lists an Intel Core i5-13500 or an AMD Ryzen 5 7600. System memory must be at least 16 GB, with 32 GB recommended for the highest settings. VRAM requirements range from 12 GB minimum to 32 GB for Ultra mode, and the game requires 80 GB of SSD storage on Windows 10 or 11.

IO Interactive also delayed the Nintendo Switch 2 launch of the game to March 2027. When we covered the last 007 First Light update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The PC update is now available, allowing players with compatible hardware to access the new visual features immediately.
