Laiku introduced the AI NAS 900 series, a new line of private cloud hosts designed for users who need local storage with AI capabilities. This launch gives buyers a dedicated hardware option for managing data at home or in small offices without relying on external servers. The devices combine standard PC components with specialized storage and networking features to support flexible data configurations.

Dual 2.5G networking and four M.2 slots define the new private cloud host

The series includes two distinct models: the base AI NAS 900 and the higher-end AI NAS 900 Pro. Both units run on Core Ultra processors, with the base model using the Ultra 7 355 and the Pro version utilizing the Ultra X9 388H. They ship with fnOS as the primary operating system, while also providing drivers for users who prefer that environment.

Storage flexibility is a core feature, as each unit comes with a 512GB SSD and four independent M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots for additional drives. The base configuration includes 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, whereas the Pro model upgrades this to 64GB to handle more demanding workloads. These storage slots support RAID 0, 1, and 5 setups, and the system also allows for ZFS file system implementation for robust data integrity.

Networking performance relies on dual 2.5G RJ45 ports that support link aggregation, alongside WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity. The front panel features two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports and one USB 3.2 Type-A port, while the rear adds four more USB Type-A ports, an HDMI 1.4b output, and a DisplayPort 1.4a. These connections allow users to attach multiple peripherals and displays directly to the NAS.

The AI NAS 900 starts at 6999 CNY (around $1,040), and the Pro model is priced at 17999 CNY (around $2,675). Both variants became available for purchase in China starting on September 15, 2024.
