Rainbow Six Siege Noor Operator Launches September 1 With Anti-Shield Gadget

Ubisoft is reshaping the high-stakes environment of Rainbow Six Siege with the arrival of Operation Split Fire, a new season that introduces a specialized counter to shield-heavy tactics. This change matters because it forces attackers to rethink their loadouts and defensive strategies against a new type of area denial. The update launches on September 1, 2026, giving players a clear timeline to prepare for these mechanical shifts.

New defender Noor counters shields with Horus Lance Launcher gadget

The centerpiece of this season is Noor, a new defender operator who brings a unique threat to the attacker side. Noor wields the Horus Lance Launcher, a gadget that fires projectiles capable of disrupting shield-wielding enemies. This operator specifically targets players who rely on heavy protection, adding a layer of tactical complexity to close-quarters engagements.

The Horus Lance Launcher carries five projectiles per deployment, allowing for sustained pressure in key defensive lanes. When a projectile hits a shield operator, it triggers a rapid burn effect that forces the shield to drop for a few seconds. This window of vulnerability gives defenders a critical opportunity to eliminate attackers who have lost their primary protection.

Ubisoft is also introducing the Legend Division, a new solo queue playlist designed for the highest-ranking players. Access to this playlist requires strict security measures on PC, including Secure Boot, Windows Memory Integrity (HVCI), and TPM 2.0. The studio is overhauling ranked play with a temporary 3vs3 playlist and updating Villa alongside modernizations to other maps.

Test servers will open on August 17, 2026, allowing players to experiment with Noor and the new security requirements before the full release.
