This breakthrough matters because it proves that high-end discrete GPUs can operate on Arm-based PCs, a platform that previously lacked official desktop GPU support. Gamers and hardware enthusiasts now have proof that the Windows on Arm ecosystem can handle demanding 3D workloads, even if the current performance is limited by software translation.

The tests relied on a modified 'RTX Spark' driver, which is not an official NVIDIA release for desktop GeForce cards. One test system used a Huawei Qingyun W510 workstation powered by a 24-core Kunpeng 920 processor and 32GB of DDR4-2933 memory. The RTX 4060 connected through a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot on this machine. A second test setup utilized a Radxa Orion O6 board paired with an RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.
Gaming performance on these Arm platforms suffers significantly due to x64-to-Arm instruction translation. VoidTech reported that Genshin Impact averaged only 20 FPS at 1080p resolution. Black Myth: Wukong performed slightly better with an average of 21 FPS, though frame times varied widely between 3 and 33 FPS.
