The device relies on the Intel Pentium Silver J5005, a four-core processor built on the 14nm Gemini Lake architecture. The Intel Pentium Silver J5005 processor, released in late 2017, provides sufficient performance for basic file serving and light container workloads. It pairs with dual-channel DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM memory to handle system tasks efficiently within the small form factor.

Specifications

  • Processor: Intel Pentium Silver J5005
  • Architecture: 14nm, 4-core Gemini Lake
  • Storage Interfaces: 1x M.2 2280 PCIe Gen2 x1, 1x M.2 2280 SATA
  • Memory: Dual-channel DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM

Networking is the standout feature for this model, as it includes two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports for high-speed local transfers. Wireless connectivity is handled by a MediaTek MT7920 card that supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. The system also provides flexible storage expansion with one M.2 2280 slot supporting PCIe Gen2 x1 and a second slot for SATA drives.

External connectivity includes a front-facing USB-A port running at 5Gbps and a rear panel equipped with HDMI 2.1, another USB-A 5Gbps port, a legacy USB-A 480Mbps port, and a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode. A 3.5mm audio jack is also present on the rear. We looked at Beelink EX Mate Pro Dock Launches in our earlier Beelink coverage to see how the vendor handles peripheral expansion in other devices.

Beelink released the new J5005 variant in China on July 12, 2024. The barebone unit costs 999 CNY (around $147), while a pre-configured version with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and the fnOS commercial edition is priced at 1499 CNY (around $221).
