LG OLED G6 TVs now deliver higher peak brightness after the company released a firmware update for the television. The change matters because it improves how HDR content looks on screens that owners already have, without requiring new hardware purchases. Buyers who own the model can expect brighter highlights and better contrast in supported titles after applying the patch.
New software patch raises peak output in HDR Filmmaker Mode without hardware changes.
The update targets the LG OLED G6 platform, which uses a panel designed for high dynamic range playback. The firmware revision 43.11.67 adjusts how the display manages light output during HDR scenes. This software change affects how the television renders bright elements like explosions or daylight in movies and games.
LG increased the maximum brightness in HDR Filmmaker Mode to 3004 nits at a 10 percent window. That represents an increase from the previous limit of 2540 nits. The update also adjusted Cinema Home mode, which saw modest improvements in peak output while Game mode stayed mostly flat or dropped slightly.

Owners should check for the firmware release through their television settings menu to apply the brightness changes. The patch confirms that LG can tweak panel behavior after a product ships and offers immediate performance gains without hardware replacements.
