AMD’s next-generation Ryzen desktop CPUs, codenamed Olympic Ridge, are rumored to drop the integrated graphics while adding a neural processing unit. According to leaker Gotou_3rd, the trade-off marks a shift in focus for the company’s mainstream desktop lineup.

NPU integration marks a first for non-APU AMD desktop chips
Olympic Ridge is expected to be based on the Zen 6 architecture and use the TSMC N2P process node. The chips will retain the AM5 socket, ensuring compatibility with existing motherboards. Core counts are said to range from 6 to 24 cores with simultaneous multithreading.

The removal of the integrated GPU is not officially confirmed and remains a rumor. Launch is planned for 2027, where Olympic Ridge will compete with Intel’s Nova Lake-S.
