GoPro showed off its Mission 1 Pro ILS camera at Cine Gear LA 2026, and it drew strong interest from Hollywood filmmakers. The camera combines a 1-inch 8K sensor with a Micro Four Thirds lens mount, offering flexibility for cinema work.

The Mission 1 Pro ILS, also called M1P ILS, is a new camera from GoPro. It uses a 1-inch 8K sensor and accepts Micro Four Thirds lenses, which opens up a wide range of glass options.

Records 10-bit 4:2:0 GP-Log2 H.265 at up to 240 Mbps
Video is recorded in 10-bit 4:2:0 GP-Log2 H.265 at up to 240 Mbps, with an alternative method reaching 300 Mbps. The camera has four built-in microphones that capture 32-bit float audio on up to three tracks.
GoPro has not announced pricing or a release date for the M1P ILS. The company continues to be surprised by the response the camera has generated, according to a representative.
The M1P ILS targets professional filmmakers who need a compact camera with high-end video specs. Its Micro Four Thirds mount makes it compatible with many existing cinema lenses.
