AMD Radeon RX 9070 GRE Launches at Computex 2026, Targets RTX 5060 Ti

AMD took the wraps off its Radeon RX 9070 GRE at Computex 2026, bringing the card to the US and other regions after a China-only launch. The new GPU directly targets Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, aiming to deliver better performance and value at a lower price.

RDNA 4 architecture powers the new mid-range contender

The RX 9070 GRE is based on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture and is positioned above the RX 9070 in the product stack. It packs 48 Compute Units, 3,072 stream processors, and 48 third-gen ray accelerators. The card also includes 96 second-gen AI accelerators for upscaling and frame generation tasks.

AMD claims significant performance lead over Nvidia’s 5060 Ti

AMD claims the RX 9070 GRE offers up to 40% better rasterization performance at 1440p compared to the RTX 5060 Ti. In ray-traced workloads, the company cites up to 30% higher performance in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. On average, AMD says the card is 22% faster and delivers 26% better value than Nvidia’s offering.

Pricing is set at $549 in the US, undercutting the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB by $20. Availability begins in May 2026 across major retailers and e-tailers. AMD’s board partners will sell the card, with custom designs expected to launch alongside the reference model.

The RX 9070 GRE fills a gap in AMD’s mid-range stack, competing directly with Nvidia’s best-selling 60-class card. The launch comes as the GPU market experiences renewed competition in the $500–$600 price range. If AMD’s performance claims hold true, the 9070 GRE could be a strong choice for 1440p gaming.
