Waveshare unveils RP2350-ePaper-1.54 with e-paper display and sensors

Waveshare has released the RP2350-ePaper-1.54, a new development board designed for projects requiring low power consumption and offline data logging. The board centers around the RP2350A computing chip, which provides flexibility through its dual-core architecture. This processor combines two Cortex-M33 cores with a RISC-V computing chip to handle various tasks.

The most prominent feature is the integrated 1.54-inch e-paper display with a resolution of 200 by 200 pixels. This screen technology allows for clear visibility without a backlight, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. The board also includes built-in sensors for measuring ambient temperature and humidity, enabling direct environmental monitoring without external components.

Connectivity options are wired and limited to I2C, UART, and PWM interfaces. The board does not support wireless network connectivity, which keeps the design simple and power-efficient. Users can record long measurement series directly onto a microSD card. The model is available in two versions, one with a touchscreen and one without.

Pricing for the RP2350-ePaper-1.54 starts at 16 USD (about $16.00) for the base model. The version equipped with a touchscreen is priced at 21 USD (about $21.00). These prices apply to the global market. The manufacturer has not disclosed specific shipping dates or regional availability details at this time.
