Valve's New Steam Controller launches tdaoy

Valve has listed its new Steam Controller on JD Worldwide in China. The controller will go on sale starting May 24 at 00:00 local time. The price is 899 CNY (about $132) before tax.

The controller features a full set of inputs: A B X Y buttons, a D-pad, left and right analog triggers, left and right bumpers, View and Menu buttons, Steam and Quick Access buttons, and four assignable grip buttons. It uses two full-size TMR magnetic joysticks with capacitive touch. A 6-axis IMU gyroscope is built in. Haptic feedback comes from four motors: two LRA units in the touchpads and two high-output LRA units in the grips. The two 34.5mm square touchpads are pressure-sensitive with configurable click intensity. On the back of the grips, there are two capacitive sensing areas. Connectivity is via 2.4GHz wireless with a 4ms polling rate. The battery is an 8.39Wh lithium unit rated for up to 35+ hours of use. The controller weighs 292g.

According to Valve, the controller does not require a Steam Machine to function. It is compatible with any device running Steam or the Steam Link app, including PC, Mac, mobile devices, and Steam Deck.
