Valve has released a new update for the Steam Client software. This patch focuses on resolving technical issues with the newly launched Steam Controller. The company addressed several bugs that affected hardware functionality and software integration.
Users can now access new Grip Sensor settings through the Steam Client menu
The update includes a firmware fix for the Steam Controller. This firmware change resolves a bug where left trackpads failed to register touches on the left side during wireless connections. Valve also fixed compatibility issues that occurred when the controller was docked to its charging puck.
Software improvements include a fix for configuration selections that previously failed to save for the new controller. The patch also corrects an issue where streamable games appeared despite the user toggling off the option to include them in the Ready to Play list. Additionally, Valve resolved occasional cursor corruption that happened while streaming on Windows.
Users can now access new Grip Sensor settings through the Steam Client menu. The path to these settings is Settings, Controller, Details, Calibration & Advanced Settings, and finally Grip Sensors. The update also adds a setting to enable or disable controller battery notifications.
Valve has not confirmed the specific launch window for this patch. The company distributed the update through the Steam platform to address immediate hardware and software compatibility concerns.
