RAWM changed the input landscape for competitive gaming by replacing magnetic sensors with light. This shift targets the trigger drift that plagues many high-end keyboards when they overheat. Buyers who need consistent actuation during long sessions should watch this release.
Optical switches replace magnetic sensors to prevent trigger drift
The company unveiled the NYX60 wired keyboard at Akihabara on October 7, 2024. The device features a CNC machined aluminum alloy chassis with an anodized finish. It weighs 850g and measures 309.7 x 113.2 x 40 mm.
Specifications
- Switch Type: Lux Optical Switch
- Polling Rate: 8000Hz
- Actuation Range: 0.1mm to 3.3mm
- Detection Precision: 0.01mm
- Material: CNC Machined Aluminum Alloy

The core innovation is the Lux Optical Switch. This mechanism detects linear movement using light signals instead of magnetic induction. The keyboard supports a polling rate of 8000Hz and allows actuation adjustment from 0.1mm to 3.3mm. The underlying detection precision reaches 0.01mm.
RAWM claims the optical architecture prevents trigger drift caused by temperature changes or electromagnetic interference. The design maintains stable performance even with high polling rates and full LED backlighting. The chassis includes six layers of sound-dampening foam and a fixed 7-degree tilt angle.
The keyboard is currently raising funds on Kickstarter for global distribution. Early backers can expect to receive the product in November 2024. This crowdfunding phase marks the initial availability window for the device.
