MetaX is reporting that demand for its AI chips is so strong that orders are booked through next year and beyond. This supply tightness highlights a critical gap in the market for reliable, high-performance computing hardware. Buyers in China’s data center sector are facing significant delays in securing new AI accelerators.

Domestic AI chip vendor reports strong demand and full security certification

The company’s current flagship is the MXC600, a GPU built on a self-developed architecture. It represents the first fully domestic supply chain implementation for the vendor, covering design, manufacturing, packaging, and the software stack. This vertical integration aims to secure stability for government, finance, and energy sectors.

  • Architecture: Self-developed GPU architecture
  • Manufacturing Process: Fully domestic supply chain (design, manufacturing, packaging, software stack)
  • Security Certification: Passed security and reliability assessment by China Information Security Evaluation Center and National Confidential Technology Evaluation Center
  • Target Market: Government, finance, telecom, energy, transportation
  • Next Gen Performance Target: C700 aims to approach H100 level

The MXC600 has passed security and reliability assessments from the China Information Security Evaluation Center and the National Confidential Technology Evaluation Center. MetaX describes the chip as having significant improvements in compute and precision compared to previous generations. The company distinguishes this high-quality compute from the oversupply of legacy or niche AI chips.

Sun Guoliang, MetaX’s Chief Product Officer, stated that general, easy-to-use, stable, and reliable computing power is scarce, with cards being hard to find. The firm is already developing the next-generation C700 chip, which aims to approach the performance level of NVIDIA’s flagship H100. This upcoming product targets improvements in compute, storage, communication, and energy efficiency.

MetaX confirms that its supply chain is fully domestic and that the MXC600 meets the strict security standards required by key Chinese industries. The company notes that orders for some products are scheduled through next year and beyond. The C700 remains in development as the vendor prepares to compete with established global leaders.
