Chief Executive Shiro Sakushima outlined these projections on July 19, 2024, as part of Kyocera's strategic market review. The vendor specifically targets the ceramic component sector, anticipating that growth in this niche will accelerate after 2026. This timeline suggests that current production levels may need to scale significantly in the near future to avoid bottlenecks.
Kyocera plans to allocate approximately 100 billion yen over seven years to fund this expansion. The investment period runs until March 2031 and focuses on building new production facilities for Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors. These MLCCs are critical for managing power and heat in high-capacity AI servers, addressing two major technical challenges identified by the CEO.
The company intends to use artificial intelligence to digitize its proprietary manufacturing knowledge base. This internal optimization aims to strengthen production efficiency as output volumes increase.
