October 14, 2024, FSP launched the W600 chassis featuring flexible 4U design for both rackmount and tower configurations. This dual-use chassis offers system integrators a versatile solution, allowing them to optimize their server/workstation setups without having to offer different chassis. This means users wanting high-density compute with standard server rack or open-air tower housing can now have one hardware offering.

FSP W600 chassis supports SSE-EEB boards and 8 expansion slots
The W600 chassis is built with the idea of supporting larger motherboards like SSE-EEB and E-ATX, but still working with standard ATX as well. There are 8 expansion slots for additional add-in cards, with a max GPU clearance of 330mm length to target users wanting to use high-performance discrete graphics or other add-in cards in a small 4U factor.
Specifications
- Form Factor: 4U (Rackmount or Tower)
- Motherboard Compatibility: SSE-EEB / E-ATX and below
- Expansion Slots: 8 slots
- GPU Clearance: 330mm length
- Storage Bays: 3x 3.5-inch, 2x 2.5-inch
For internal support, the chassis features flexible internal configuration options. Pre-installed fans are offered including 2x 120mm and a 92mm front fan, as well as 1x 92mm rear fan. The chassis also supports a 240mm radiator up front for liquid cooling setups. Standard ATX or 2U CRPS 1+1 redundant power supplies are supported. There is a 135mm max height limit for the CPU cooler, which can limit extremely high-profile air cooling setups.
3x 3.5-inch bays and 2x 2.5-inch bays are available for drive installation, with a USB-C port and 2x USB-A 5Gbps ports in the front for peripherals. The entire chassis is built with 1.2mm EMC compliant SGCC steel construction with a 175mm height, which adds to the rigidity and EMC compliance for sensitive electronics.
Earlier we covered the FSP DAGGER GD SFX Power Supply offering native PCIe 12V-2×6 support, so we see FSP focused on power-related solutions. The W600 chassis offering robust power solutions for high-density setups. Now available as a new 4U chassis option for deployments.
