Elecom has released the SOLAR-2 series of mobile solar chargers in Japan, offering portable power for outdoor use without relying on grid electricity. The new lineup gives hikers and campers a way to keep devices running during trips where outlets are unavailable. These units convert sunlight into usable energy through flexible panels that fold compactly for transport.
Portable chargers feature wide-angle stands and digital ammeters for outdoor power.
The SOLAR-2 series includes two models designed for different capacity needs. The MPA-NESTS024BE model provides up to 28 watts of power using four solar panels, while the smaller MPA-NESTS022BE delivers 14 watts with just two panels. Both units feature wide-angle stands that adjust to track sunlight movement throughout the day.
The larger MPA-NESTS024BE weighs 910 grams and includes both USB-A and USB-C output ports alongside a digital ammeter for monitoring charge rates. The lighter MPA-NESTS022BE model tips the scales at 610 grams and also features auto-detection charging that adjusts power delivery based on connected device requirements.
Both chargers utilize wide-angle stands to maximize exposure to sunlight during use. Digital ammeters display real-time current readings so users can track charging progress directly on the unit. Auto-detection technology ensures safe power transfer by identifying connected devices and adjusting output accordingly.
