EA Sports has updated F1 25 with enhanced PSSR support for the PS5 Pro. The upgrade delivers ray tracing at 60 frames per second in Quality Mode. Players with compatible displays can also run Performance Mode at 120Hz and up to 8K resolution.
PSSR enhances ray tracing and performance modes
The game runs on Electronic Arts' proprietary engine. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The PS5 Pro version now leverages Sony's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution upscaling technology.
Quality Mode already included ray tracing and ran at 60 FPS on PS5 Pro. With PSSR, the visual fidelity improves further. Performance Mode benefits from PSSR as well, enabling smooth 120Hz gameplay and 8K output on supported TVs.
2026 Season Pack DLC arrives June 3
A new 2026 Season Pack DLC launches on June 3, 2026. It introduces active aerodynamics, an Overtake mode, and expanded Career and My Team content. The DLC also includes the Madring circuit.
Mark Roberts, a representative from EA, stated that the ray tracing enhanced presentation with PSSR is the best you can get on console hardware. He added that all enhancements come together in the 2026 Season Pack, especially at the new Madring circuit.
The update and DLC are confirmed for release this week. No pricing details have been announced. The PS5 Pro version now offers the highest visual quality available on consoles for F1 25.
