DJI has teased a new vlogging camera called the Osmo Pocket 4P at the Cannes Film Festival. The device is expected to offer a significant upgrade in dynamic range over its predecessor.
Adam Juniper confirms dynamic range boost
According to Adam Juniper, the Osmo Pocket 4P supports 17 stops of dynamic range on its 1-inch style primary lens. For comparison, the Osmo Pocket 4 offers 14 stops of dynamic range. The extra stops are said to enable cinematic video quality.
The full extent of camera hardware improvements has not been disclosed by DJI. It remains unclear what other changes the Osmo Pocket 4P will bring beyond the dynamic range upgrade.
The Osmo Pocket 4P was first reported by Digital Camera World and slashCamera. DJI has not confirmed a launch date or pricing for the camera.
