DJI is preparing to launch the Osmo Pocket 4P, a new vlogging camera that builds upon its existing lineup with enhanced zoom capabilities. The company announced the device in May 2024, positioning it as a significant upgrade for content creators who require versatile optical performance in a handheld form factor.
New vlogging camera with enhanced zoom capabilities
The Osmo Pocket 4P features a primary 1-inch CMOS sensor to capture high-quality images and video. It also includes a dedicated telephoto sensor that provides up to 3x optical zoom. This dual-sensor setup allows users to zoom in on subjects without losing detail, while digital zoom extends the range to at least 10x.
Early hands-on footage indicates that the Creator Combo bundle will include several essential accessories. The package reportedly contains a Fill Light, a Mini Tripod, and a wide-angle secondary lens. These components aim to provide a complete solution for vloggers who need to adjust their field of view and lighting conditions on the go.
The device is scheduled to launch in China before the end of May. DJI has not officially confirmed the specific release date, stating only that the launch is imminent. Reports suggest that global availability may follow the Chinese release, though previous models like the Osmo Pocket 4 were not released in the US market.
Information regarding the exact launch date and global pricing remains unconfirmed by the vendor. The current focus is on the imminent Chinese release, with details about international distribution and cost yet to be finalized.
