The firmware targets the AMD Ryzen AM5 desktop architecture, specifically focusing on the Zen 4 Phoenix core processors. Initial verified support covers the Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 7 8700G APUs. The development team validated the release on the MSI PRO B850-P WIFI motherboard, establishing a baseline for compatibility.

Dasharo achieves a 79.1 percent reduction in closed-source code compared to the original MSI firmware. The architecture relies on Coreboot for the open-source boot loader and AMD openSIL for silicon initialization. This combination moves away from the proprietary AGESA model used in standard OEM implementations.

The firmware includes support for UEFI Secure Boot, AMD fTPM 2.0 with measured boot, and AMD ROM Armor 3 for SMM BIOS write protection.
