Cold Iron Studios has officially revealed Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, bringing the long-rumored sequel out of the shadows. The studio confirmed the project after a leak surfaced in July 2024. Development on the sequel actually began in October 2023, following the cessation of content work on the original game.
Co-op expands to four players with smarter enemies and cross-platform support
The most significant structural change involves the cooperative gameplay model. The team has expanded the session size from three players to four players. This shift allows for larger squad-based firefights against the iconic alien threat.

The sequel introduces enemies that are smarter and more aggressive. These foes adapt to player tactics to provide a tougher and more dynamic challenge. Players will also encounter new and returning threats throughout the campaign. The game features enhanced weapon customization and buildcrafting options to support varied playstyles.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will arrive on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title supports cross-platform co-op at launch, allowing players on different systems to team up. The global release window is set for Summer 2026.

Cold Iron Studios has not confirmed the specific launch date within the Summer 2026 window. The studio also has not disclosed pricing details for the new installment.
