Club 3D Unveils CAC-2531, a 10GbE USB Type-C Wired LAN Adapter for 11,800 Yen

Club 3D has released the CAC-2531, a wired LAN adapter that connects USB ports to 10-gigabit Ethernet networks. The company announced the peripheral on July 6, 2021. This device allows users to expand their network capabilities through a standard USB Type-C interface.

New peripheral announced July 6, 2021 with RTL8159 chipset and USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 support.

The adapter utilizes the Realtek RTL8159 chipset to manage data transmission. It supports USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 connections to achieve maximum speeds of 10Gbps. The hardware also maintains backward compatibility with 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, and 5Gbps Ethernet standards. It further supports legacy 10Mbps and 100Mbps connections for broader network integration.

Club 3D priced the CAC-2531 at 11,800 JPY (about $75.32) for the Japanese market. The compact unit measures 76.5 by 34 by 15 mm and weighs approximately 42 grams. The manufacturer lists Windows 11 and macOS Sequoia as compatible operating systems for the driver-free device.

This release adds to the growing market of high-speed USB networking peripherals. The inclusion of 2.5G and 5G support ensures the adapter works efficiently with modern home and office networks that exceed standard gigabit speeds. The plug-and-play design eliminates the need for additional software installation on supported systems.
