Dell is launching a new configuration of its XPS 14 laptop that ships with Ubuntu Linux 24.04 LTS pre-installed starting June 2 in North America. This move targets developers and users who prefer open-source operating systems, offering a direct alternative to Windows configurations at a lower price point.
Ubuntu Linux models save $100 on Windows Home and $160 on Windows Pro configurations.
The laptop uses Intel Core Ultra processors such as the Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 7 355, Core Ultra X7 358H, and Core Ultra X9 388H. The graphics use Arc B390.

Pricing starts at $1,899 USD in the United States and CAD 2,539 in Canada. The Ubuntu Linux version is available only in North America for now.
Shipments for Core Ultra 5 325, Core Ultra 7 355, and Core Ultra X7 358H variants begin June 15. The Core Ultra X9 388H will be available starting July 22.
