ASUS and ASRock Unveil 3000W Power Supplies for RTX 5090 Systems

ASUS and ASRock pushed past the 1600W ceiling for consumer power supplies at COMPUTEX 2026. The companies unveiled new units that reach up to 3200W, targeting semi-professional workstations and high-end gaming rigs. The new units address the growing need for higher power delivery to individual connectors on modern graphics cards.

New units from ASUS and ASRock target extreme wattage demands with advanced connector safety features

ASUS introduced the ROG Thor 3rd Gen Titanium 20th Anniversary Edition with a maximum output of 3000W. ASRock displayed three new Taichi series models rated at 2600W, 3000W, and 3200W. Both vendors equipped their units with four 12V-2×6 connectors to handle modern GPU power requirements.

ASRock also highlighted enhanced standby power capabilities in its new units. The company states these models can deliver up to 40W on the 5V rail during standby mode. The increased wattage accommodates continuous power requirements for specialized hardware found in advanced computing systems.

The new power supplies will appear at COMPUTEX 2026 in June 2026. ASUS and ASRock did not share specific release dates or pricing for these models. The units target users who need extreme wattage but currently lack commercial availability details.

These announcements mark a shift toward higher single-rail outputs for consumer hardware. Previous high-end units typically maxed out around 1600W, making these new 3000W and 3200W models notable upgrades.
