ASRock Rack launched DMRD16-2L+ motherboard for ’s next-gen ‘Diamond Rapids’ Xeons. The new motherboard is meant for data centers looking to upgrade to more powerful hardware without having to fully overhaul the chassis layout. The DMRD16-2L+ motherboard enables enterprises to leverage new-gen computing power without changing server chassis.

New SSI-EEB board enables Diamond Rapids upgrades without chassis changes

With the SSI-EEB form factor, it’s widely compatible with many enterprise server chassis. The motherboard is made precisely for the latest generation of Intel Xeon Scalable CPUs. It offers an excellent path for system integrators to deploy Diamond Rapids CPUs on existing server models.

Specifications

  • Form Factor: SSI-EEB
  • Memory Support: 16-channel DDR5, 12800MT/s MRDIMM
  • Expansion: 16x MCIO 8i, PCIe Gen6 / CXL Gen3
  • Storage: 1x PCIe Gen5 x4 M.2
  • Networking: 2x 1GbE

The motherboard is built for excellent memory performance. 16-channel DDR5 with 1DPC is onboard. It can work with fast 12800MT/s MRDIMMs for enhanced bandwidth. M.2 PCIe Gen5 x4 is available for OS SSD. There are two 1GbE ports for general management/traffic usage.

16 MCIO 8i ports offer PCIe Gen6 and CXL Gen3. It enables great scalability for I/O on high-density server setups. ASPEED AST2700 BMC SoC is integrated for OOB management. So it will still be easily manageable and scalable for heavy loads.

ASRock Rack announced the new motherboard at 2026 OCP Global Summit. The company didn’t share a price yet. Nor did they give a precise launch date for the DMRD16-2L+. However, interested buyers can keep an eye out on official channels for any news on its availability as Diamond Rapids is about to go live.
