AMD is introducing a new feature called CPPC Highest Frequency to improve CPU scheduling in Windows 11 and Linux. The feature exposes the actual maximum boost clock of each core to the operating system, reducing mismatches between Collaborative Power and Performance Control (CPPC) values and real core speeds.
The feature is supported via the ACPI 6.7 specification update. AMD engineer Mario Limonciello has submitted patches to the Linux kernel mailing list. According to Limonciello, the proposal is currently before the ASWG and is trending toward inclusion in ACPI 6.7.

The CPPC Highest Frequency feature is expected to debut with future AMD architectures, likely Zen 6. It may appear in processors beyond Zen 5, though AMD has not confirmed the exact launch window.
The feature aims to improve boost behavior and scheduling accuracy, which could lead to better performance in both Windows 11 and Linux. TweakTown reported that the feature enhances CPU scheduling precision.
AMD has not confirmed when the feature will arrive in consumer hardware. The company has not provided a specific timeline for the ACPI 6.7 update or its implementation in future processors.
