Thunderbird Q5AD 24.5-Inch Gaming Monitor Launches at $88

Thunderbird, a sub-brand of TCL, has launched the Q5AD gaming monitor in China on May 26. The device targets budget-conscious gamers with a high refresh rate panel and aggressive pricing.

The monitor features a 24.5-inch Fast IPS display. It runs at a native resolution of 1080P (1920×1080).

The Q5AD supports a native refresh rate of 280Hz. Users can overclock the panel to 300Hz when connected via DisplayPort 1.4.

The display includes MPRT Plus technology for motion clarity and delivers a 1ms gray-to-gray response time. It covers 99% of the sRGB color space and 93% of DCI-P3 in 10-bit depth.

HDR support is limited to VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, with a peak brightness of 400 nits. The monitor adapts to AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible standards.

Connectivity options include one HDMI 2.0 port, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones or speakers.

The Q5AD launches in China at a price of 599 CNY (about $88.11). Availability is currently restricted to the Chinese market without confirmed international release plans.

Thunderbird positions the Q5AD as an entry-level gaming monitor. It competes with other budget Fast IPS panels that prioritize high refresh rates over premium features like local dimming or wide color gamuts.
