Purism has released PureOS 11, codenamed Crimson. This update brings stability and reliability improvements to the operating system. The release syncs with Debian Bookworm through updated metapackages.
Stability and reliability improvements for Librem devices now available
The new version addresses hardware killswitch issues on the Librem 5 smartphone. It also fixes a crash that occurred when disconnecting external displays from Librem 5 and Librem 11 laptops. Purism improved the camera stack for the Librem 5 and added automatic photo rotation to match phone orientation.
Users can access PureOS 11 through subscription tiers priced at 5.99 USD (about $5.99) per month for Standard, 9.99 USD (about $9.99) per month for Premium, and 19.99 USD (about $19.99) per month for Expert. The operating system supports Librem laptops, Librem smartphones, Liberty Phone handsets, and third-party devices.
Purism also offers the Librem Server starting at a price of 2,999 USD or more. New users and those reinstalling the system can download the ISO images directly from the vendor.
