Spotify is introducing a new verification badge for podcast shows to help listeners identify authentic content. The Verified by Spotify badge appears as a green checkmark on show pages and in search results. The rollout begins today and will continue over the coming months.
Badge eligibility based on engagement and compliance
Eligibility for the badge is based on sustained audience engagement, compliance with platform rules, and authentic listenership signals. Spotify says the badge offers listeners "clearer signals" of authenticity. The company is also reinforcing its policy against unauthorized impersonation, including AI-generated content that mimics a person's voice or likeness.

The feature is rolling out globally starting May 19, 2026. Users can expect to see the new badge on selected shows from today, with a gradual rollout over the coming months.
The move comes as platforms face growing challenges from AI-generated content and impersonation. Spotify's verification system aims to give podcast listeners a reliable way to distinguish legitimate shows from imitations. The company has not confirmed whether the badge will expand to other content types in the future.
