WWDC 2026 Set for June 8: iOS 27 Brings Customizable Camera and New Siri App

Apple has scheduled its WWDC 2026 keynote for June 8 at 10:00 a.m. PT. The event will introduce iOS 27, which brings a redesigned camera app with customizable widgets. A dedicated Siri app will include conversation history and an auto-purge feature.

Siri app includes conversation history and auto-purge.

iOS 27 adds a new 'Search or Ask' bar accessible by swiping down from the Dynamic Island. Users can swap the AI model powering Siri by long-pressing the search bar. Safari gets a new Start Page with four tabs. The Weather app adds a 'Conditions' panel. Image Playground is redesigned with a 'describe a change' option. Search is integrated into the bottom bar in most Apple apps. Writing Tools gain a 'Write With Siri' toggle and grammar check. The Shortcuts app can create app shortcuts via natural language. The Photos app gets an 'Apple Intelligence Tools' section with Extend, Enhance, and Reframe options.

The Siri chatbot runs on Google TPUs and uses an advanced Gemini model. Siri can view on-screen content and handle combination requests. The Siri app includes 'Extensions' for third-party agents like ChatGPT. Spotlight search may be replaced by Siri unified search.

According to Mark Gurman, Apple Foundation Models version 11 is expected to be competitive with Gemini 3 and significantly more capable. The WWDC keynote is confirmed for June 8. Max Weinbach also confirmed attendance. Apple has not confirmed the exact launch window for iOS 27 beyond the keynote.
