X Corp. Cuts Daily Post Limit for Unverified Accounts to Just 50

X Corp. has significantly tightened posting restrictions on its platform, targeting accounts that have not undergone verification. The company reduced the daily post limit for these unverified users from 2,400 tweets to just 50. This change represents a drastic reduction in the volume of content a single user can publish each day without meeting specific identity criteria.

Daily posting volume drops drastically for users without verification status

In addition to the post count reduction, X introduced a new daily limit for replies. Unverified accounts can now only post 200 replies per day. Previously, the platform did not enforce a uniform daily cap on posting volume for all account types, allowing unverified users to publish up to 2,400 items daily before the policy shift.

Reports indicate that the lowest tier of X's paid subscription service, known as X Basic, is also subject to these strict limits. The Basic plan costs 368 JPY per month. Users on this paid tier appear to be restricted to the same 50 posts and 200 replies daily because the subscription does not include account verification features. This suggests that paying for the service does not guarantee exemption from the new posting caps if the account remains unverified.

The enforcement of these limits has drawn attention to the distinction between paid status and verified identity on the platform. While the Basic plan offers certain benefits, it does not bypass the anti-spam measures applied to unverified identities. The platform continues to prioritize verification status over subscription level when determining posting allowances.
