Ayaneo has revealed a new vertical handheld called the Pocket Block. The device may be cheaper than the company's existing Pocket Vert model. Design details have emerged through a manual and renders.
Plastic shell and SNES-style buttons revealed
The Pocket Block features a plastic shell and plastic buttons. The only glass component is the display. The ABXY buttons are marked and have a SNES-style pill-shaped outline. The power button and volume rocker are on the right side. Two customizable buttons and a microSD card slot are on the left. Speakers sit at the bottom, flanking a USB-C port and a headphone jack. Below the display, a triple-slit grille houses a microphone. The device runs Android.

The renders show the name Bitwave on the handheld, but the manual calls it Pocket Block. It is possible that Bitwave is a codename. The function of a button labeled '=' is unknown, but it may be an overview or options button. No technical specifications have been released yet.
The information comes from a manual found on manuals.plus and renders shared by a user known as RetroDeadFred. Ayaneo has not confirmed the launch window or pricing.
