Microsoft is retiring Together Mode in Teams starting June 30, 2026. The feature, along with Scenes, custom scenes, and seating assignments, will be removed in a phased rollout. Targeted and Public Preview customers will see the change first.
Microsoft recommends Gallery View as replacement
As an alternative for custom backgrounds, customers can use branded backgrounds. Microsoft recommends Gallery View as a suitable replacement for Together Mode.
The retirement is scheduled to begin globally on June 30, 2026.
Microsoft has not confirmed whether any other Teams features will be affected by this change.
