Amazon has announced a new lineup of Kindle Scribe models, including the first color variant called Colorsoft. The devices are set to ship in Japan starting June 10, 2025.
New Kindle Scribe features an 11-inch Oxide display
The new Kindle Scribe measures 189 x 245 x 5.4 mm and weighs 400 grams. It features an 11-inch anti-reflective Oxide display with a redesigned front light that uses twice as many LEDs for a thinner bezel. A new quad-core chip and increased memory improve handwriting and page turn speed by about 40 percent. The display also has a new textured glass for a paper-like feel.
Pricing in Japan starts at 72,980 JPY (about $464) for the frontlight-free 16GB model. The standard Kindle Scribe 32GB is 89,980 JPY (about $573), and the 64GB version is 98,980 JPY (about $630). The Colorsoft models are priced at 106,980 JPY (about $681) for 32GB and 115,980 JPY (about $738) for 64GB.
The new home screen offers quick notes, support for Google Drive and OneDrive, OneNote sharing, and workspace folders. The pen supports 10 colors and 5 highlighter colors, along with a shading function. Amazon has not confirmed availability outside Japan.
