BIOSTAR launches fanless EdgeComp MS-U320 mini-PC with Intel Core 5 320 and -20°C rating

BIOSTAR launched a new industrial fanless mini-PC, the EdgeComp MS-U320, a device aimed at industries that need a computer that can work in extreme temperatures reliably. For purchasers, this will be important as they need rugged computers that can withstand harsh conditions without the need for active cooling devices. The mini-PC is focused on uses where silent operation and durability are key operational characteristics.

Industrial mini-PC features Intel Core 5 320 and passive cooling for harsh environments

The BIOSTAR EdgeComp MS-U320 is based on the Core 5 320 CPU, from the Wildcat Lake series, manufactured on Intel's 18A process. The chip has six cores and six threads. It consists of two Performance cores and four Low Power Efficient cores with a maximum boost clock of 4.6 GHz. The TDP for the CPU is set at 15W by BIOSTAR, which makes it interesting for low power embedded applications.

Specifications

  • Processor: Intel Core 5 320 (Wildcat Lake, 6C/6T, 4.6 GHz boost)
  • AI Performance: Up to 40 TOPS (CPU+GPU+NPU)
  • Memory: Up to 64GB DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM
  • Storage: M.2 2242/2280 PCIe 4.0 x2
  • Networking: Dual 2.5GbE, 4x COM, Optional 4G/5G

The mini-PC offers up to 64GB DDR5-6400 SO-DIMM RAM. Storage-wise, it has an M.2 2242 or 2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 x2 connection. The networking is covered with two 2.5GbE LAN ports with Intel I226-LM and I226-V support, COM x4, USB. BIOSTAR says that optional 4G/5G is possible with extra M.2 slots for wireless needs.

The mini-PC has dimensions of 167x135x60 mm and weighs 1.2 kg. It works in -20°C to 50°C temperatures with a passive cooling solution. BIOSTAR claims that it provides up to 40 TOPS combined AI performance from CPU + GPU + NPU for edge computing tasks.

You can run 11, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise 24H2, and Ubuntu 24.04. It is powered by a 90W adapter with 9-24V DC input.

There is no pricing information or availability information for the BIOSTAR EdgeComp MS-U320. The company shared tech specs and operation ranges, but did not share the commercial information in the launch announcement.
