Lenovo is starting pre-orders for the Lecoo Pro 16. This is a laptop aimed at enthusiasts that need desktop-like performance in a portable package. This is an important release as it's offering high-end internals and a wide range of connectivity options in a laptop that tips the scales at just 1.75kg. If you're in the market for a beastly system that doesn't demand all the real estate of a desktop-tower form-factor, this is one to look out for.

High-end internals and wide connectivity options in a 1.75kg portable package
It features an Intel Core Ultra X9 378H CPU that Lenovo claims can unleash up to 80W performance release. This seems to indicate that this is a system designed for sustained operation, not just short-burst bursts of speed. It's equipped with 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 memory. 1TB of PCIe SSD storage is present for quick data access.
Specifications
- Processor: Intel Core Ultra X9 378H
- Memory: 32GB LPDDR5X-8533
- Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD
- Display: 2560×1600 120Hz 500nits
- Battery: 90Whr
There's a 2560×1600 screen running at 120Hz. The screen reaches 500nits brightness and has high color gamut support for accurate image rendering. It's packed into a laptop that has a 90Whr battery to help compensate for the power draw of the high performance CPU/GPU.
It has OCuLink connectivity, which is a port for external storage or GPU expansion. There's a 1GbE RJ-45 Ethernet port. 2x USB-C (1x 40Gbps), and a bunch of USB-A ports. We've previously written about the Lenovo LOQ 15 Gaming Laptop Arrives in the earlier Lenovo coverage, though that's aimed at a different market (with an RTX 3050 GPU).
The Lecoo Pro 16 will be available from October 30, 2024 at 20:00, in China. The normal price is 9999CNY or ~$1495. Subsidy and platform discount can bring the price down to 7649.15CNY or ~$1143. So the high spec config becomes affordable for the budget-conscious enthusiasts.
