SpacemiT has launched their server class risc-v cpu: Vital Stone V100. They give us an alternative to the data center workloads. The product is rich in cores and designed for high throughput computing use cases. This is a critical announcement for customers and system integrators as they can now see a specific direction with RISC-V in servers.
The processor features 8-channel DDR5 and 52 PCIe Gen5 lanes for server workloads
They've a heterogenous cpu with two different core architectures. They've 6 performance cores with Xiangshan Kunming Lake V2R2 architecture. There are also 40 efficiency cores with X100 architecture.
Specifications
- Core Configuration: 6 Performance Cores (Xiangshan Kunming Lake V2R2) + 40 Efficiency Cores (X100)
- Performance Core Max Frequency: 2.1 GHz
- Performance Core SPECint2006: >= 15.0/GHz
- Efficiency Core Max Frequency: 2.4 GHz
- Efficiency Core SPECint2006: >= 9.0/GHz
The performance cores peak frequency is 2.1GHz. They have a SPECint2006 score of >=15.0/GHz. Efficiency cores peak frequency is 2.4GHz. They have a SPECint2006 score of >=9.0/GHz.
8 channel 1dpc ddr5-4800 for memory bandwidth. 52-lane PCIe Gen5 for peripherals. Dual socket coherent interconnect for resource sharing. RVA23 Profile for standard security and virtualization support.
We've been covering CyanSemi PCIe Gen5 Retimer chip launch. It has 36dB compensation for high speed link integrity. Now we have a full picture of the ecosystem with a high speed cpu in Vital Stone V100.
