Thermaltake has released the Arcus 280 TG ARGB, a compact M-ATX chassis that brings dual-chamber aesthetics to smaller builds. This case matters to builders who want high-end airflow and RGB lighting without sacrificing floor space. We get a clear view of internal components through curved tempered glass panels while keeping the footprint manageable for standard desks.

Compact dual-chamber chassis ships with three pre-installed ARGB fans

The Arcus 280 TG ARGB serves as the smaller sibling to the Arcus 380 TG ARGB. It retains the signature aquarium-style layout but scales down the dimensions to fit M-ATX motherboards. This design choice allows users to showcase their hardware without needing a full tower case.

Specifications

  • Form Factor: M-ATX
  • Dimensions: 387x285x478 mm
  • Max GPU Length: 430mm
  • Pre-installed Fans: 3x 120mm ARGB PWM
  • Front I/O: 1x USB-C 10Gbps, 2x USB-A 5Gbps

Thermaltake pre-installs three 120mm ARGB PWM fans to handle cooling right out of the box. The front panel holds two reverse-blade fans, and the rear panel includes one standard forward-blade fan. Users can expand the airflow by adding up to nine 120mm fans total. The chassis also supports a 360mm AIO radiator mounted on the top panel.

Component clearance remains practical for mid-range builds. The case accommodates graphics cards up to 430mm in length and power supplies up to 180mm. Air coolers must stay under 160mm in height. Storage options include one combined 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch bay plus a dedicated 2.5-inch slot. The front I/O panel provides one USB-C port at 10Gbps and two USB-A ports at 5Gbps.

Thermaltake lists the Arcus 280 TG ARGB at 699 CNY (around $104) in China and 3,980 TWD (around $125) in Taiwan. The case launched in China on September 16, 2024. Buyers can choose between black and white color finishes. We looked at Thermaltake Arcus 380 TG ARGB Launches in our earlier Thermaltake coverage.
