Cinder City Premium Price Confirmed for PC Launch in Q4 2026

NC confirms Cinder City will launch on PC with a premium box price in Q4 2026, dropping the free- to- play model for cosmetics and battle passes.

NC is shifting Cinder City away from the free-to-play model that dominates the battle royale genre, opting instead for a premium box price. This change matters because it signals a commitment to a complete, upfront experience rather than a live-service model reliant on microtransactions for core access. Buyers who prefer paying once for full content will find this approach more aligned with their preferences.

NC confirms premium box price and PC-first launch for Cinder City

The game is set to launch on PC first, with console versions arriving at a later date. Daniel Lafuente confirmed that the initial release will be PC-only, leaving the timing for console ports and cross-play support undecided until development progresses further. The title runs on Unreal Engine 5, supporting hundreds of concurrent players in a 7x7km open world set in Seoul.

NC has reduced the playable character roster to five distinct classes: Seven, Vulcan, Orang, Psyker, and Angel. Each character serves a specific role, ranging from Assault and Tank to Sniper, Robotics, and Support. The current level cap stands at 20 per character, though the developers note this figure may change as the game remains in active development.

The business model includes a cosmetics shop and Battle Passes to support the live service aspect of the premium title. Lafuente stated, "Cinder City won't be a free-to-play game. It'll launch at a box price, with a cosmetics shop and Battle Passes on the live service side." Endgame content will focus on PvE activities, including 4-6 player co-op dungeons and large-scale raid bosses requiring tens of players.

NC plans to release an alpha test in Q4 2026, with betas to follow in subsequent phases. This timeline comes after NDA pre-alpha tests conducted in North America, Europe, and Latin America.
