The new Synopsys HBM5 Verification IP targets the specific architectural changes introduced in the fifth generation of High Bandwidth Memory. It supports the transition from the DDR signaling used in HBM4 to QDR signaling, which quadruples the per-pin data rate. This shift allows each HBM5 stack to approach 8 TB/s in peak bandwidth, a significant leap over previous generations.

Engineers can debug and analyze memory traffic using integrated Verdi Protocol Analyzer and Verdi Performance Analyzer tools. These utilities run on ZeBu and HAPS emulation platforms to help identify protocol violations and performance bottlenecks early in the design cycle.
