In contrast, the AMD Ryzen AI 300 versions of the Laptop 13 Pro stick with standard SO-DIMMs, which do not have this price increase. This distinction means the financial impact depends entirely on which processor you choose.

Existing pre-orders will be honored at the original prices, though higher-capacity orders may be downgraded to lower capacities if stock is low.

Chief executive Nirav Patel cited supplier cost hikes as the reason for the increase, stating that prices are more than double the prior inventory costs. He noted that absorbing these hikes would place the company's ability to operate at real financial risk. Framework is also raising prices for X7 and X9 expansion cards, Windows licenses, and some Ryzen AI 300 configurations. The first batch of pre-orders for the Laptop 13 Pro is set to ship in July.
