Astera Labs Releases Scorpio X-Series 320 Lane PCIe Switch

Astera Labs announced the Scorpio X-Series on May 5, 2024. This new product is a PCIe switch designed for high-radix AI networking applications. The company positions the chip as the industry's largest open memory-semantic interconnect switch available.

The Scorpio X-Series features 320 configurable PCIe lanes. It includes a hardware-accelerated Hypercast and in-network computing engine. Astera Labs claims this architecture can improve collective compute performance by up to two times. The switch aims to increase tokens processed per watt for demanding AI workloads.

Astera Labs reported first quarter 2026 revenue of $308.4 million, representing a 93 percent year-over-year increase. The company also extended its Scorpio P-Series PCIe Switch to 320 lanes. These developments highlight the growing demand for high-bandwidth interconnects in the AI sector.

Astera Labs has not confirmed specific pricing or availability windows for the Scorpio X-Series. The vendor did not disclose launch dates for the extended Scorpio P-Series either. Details regarding the specific regions for these product releases remain unconfirmed.
