Borderlands 4 Update 1.8 Brings Cross-Platform Saves and Free Endgame Content

Gearbox is rolling out update 1.8 for Borderlands 4 on June 26, bringing performance improvements and balance changes to the game. The patch introduces cross-platform save support that relies on SHiFT accounts for syncing progress across different systems. Players can manually sync their save files through the in-game interface, although Golden Keys will not transfer between platforms.

Patch 1.8 launches June 26 with SHiFT sync and Takedown at Hadron Abyss

The update coincides with the launch of free endgame content called Takedown at Hadron Abyss. This new activity takes place in an undersea research station and features a battle against the Child of Terramorphous boss. The release also marks the arrival of Bounty Pack 3, which adds narrative content and gear for $5.99.

Paid DLC continues with Bounty Pack 4, titled Murders and Acquisitions, scheduled for release on July 30. Story Pack 2 will introduce a new playable vault hunter named Loveless in early September. Loveless is an ex-Anshin hacker who uses cybernetic enhancements and digital viruses, with the pack costing $19.99.

Vault Card 3 will also launch as part of the June 26 update for an additional $5.99. The Loveless character and her cosmetics are available separately for $9.99. Story Pack 2 and Bounty Pack 5 are both planned for early September releases.
