This move reflects broader industry concerns about global uncertainty and the desire to reduce reliance on a single dominant supplier.

The list of customers securing advanced manufacturing capacity includes Google, AMD, and several specialized AI developers. Google is currently negotiating with Samsung to produce its Tensor Processing Units and Axion AI accelerators. AMD has finalized a contract to have its next-generation EPYC server CPUs manufactured using Samsung's second-generation 2nm process technology.
Tesla plans to have its next-generation A16 chip exclusively produced at Samsung's facility in Texas. This arrangement highlights the growing importance of domestic manufacturing capabilities for critical automotive and computing hardware. The deal underscores Samsung's expanding role in producing high-performance chips for the electric vehicle sector.
Other specialized firms are also leveraging Samsung's fabrication nodes for their specific needs. Neuralink has proposed a contract for the production of next-generation brain implant chips. Meanwhile, AI inference startup Groq will manufacture its LP30 processor on Samsung's 4nm node. These agreements demonstrate Samsung's ability to serve diverse markets ranging from consumer electronics to medical devices.
