Apple's iPhone Air has reached 700,000 activations in China, according to data from a Weibo leaker. The device accounts for 6.8% of total iPhone 17 series sales in the region.

For comparison, the iPhone 16 Plus represented only 2.9% of iPhone 16 series sales. The iPhone Air is priced at 822 EUR (about $965) in Germany, while the regular iPhone 17 costs 826 EUR (about $969).

The same leaker claims that ultra-thin Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge are selling even worse, though this is not official data. Apple is rumored to be planning at least one successor to the iPhone Air, possibly two.
The iPhone Air's activation count in China reached 700,000 units, representing a 6.8% share of the iPhone 17 series. Its share of the iPhone 17 series is higher than the iPhone 16 Plus achieved in its generation, but still represents a small fraction of overall sales.
