Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Summer Game Fest 2026 and confirmed the game will launch in Spring 2027. The title adds a level cap of 99 and expands the endgame with optional world map content that players can explore after finishing the main story.
Square Enix confirms players can reach level 99 without restrictions in the upcoming remake trilogy finale.
The remake trilogy concludes with this entry on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2. Game Director Naoki Hamaguchi outlined how the developers structured the final boss encounters to separate them between narrative progression and optional exploration zones.
Players can reach level 99 without hitting a hard cap that limited previous entries in the remake series. The game features Weapons bosses split across main story sequences and dedicated world map areas with unique narratives.
Endgame content includes enemies tougher than the story finale, such as the Knights of the Round. Revelation steers players toward completing remaining world map objectives instead of replaying the campaign on harder difficulties like earlier titles did.
Square Enix positions the release alongside a packed 2027 RPG lineup that includes other major upcoming releases. The developer plans to launch the game simultaneously across all four platforms in Spring 2027 without region restrictions.
