Microsoft has officially revealed the detailed specifications for its new Surface Laptop Ultra, marking a significant step in its lineup of portable devices. Microsoft introduced the device to challenge premium Windows laptops and tablets that balance strong performance with portability.

The device is powered by the Nvidia RTX Spark platform, which combines an ultra-efficient CPU with an RTX GPU capable of delivering 1 petaflop of AI compute. The device targets professionals requiring intensive local AI processing within an ultra-thin, portable chassis.
Key specifications include support for up to 128GB of unified memory, enabling seamless handling of large datasets and complex AI workloads locally. The display is a 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen featuring a 3:2 aspect ratio, 262 ppi density, and 2,000 nits peak HDR brightness for vivid visuals.
The chassis measures under 18mm in thickness and weighs less than 4.5 pounds (approximately 2 kg), ensuring ease of transport without compromising durability. It also includes a user-replaceable SSD, allowing for future upgrades to storage capacity as needed. The thermal system is designed to provide up to 2.5 times the cooling capacity of the 15-inch Surface Laptop 7th Edition, supporting sustained performance under load.
