Lexar NM1090 PRO SSD Adds 8TB Version with 14,400 MB/s Read Speeds

Lexar announces the NM1090 PRO SSD in an 8TB version featuring up to 14,400 MB/s sequential read speeds and 5600 TBW endurance for heavy workloads.

Lexar NM1090 PRO SSD Adds 8TB Version with 14,400 MB/s Read Speeds

Lexar has expanded its flagship NM1090 PRO storage lineup with an 8TB capacity tier, targeting users who need massive local data stores without compromising on speed. This new capacity tier expands Lexar's lineup with an 8TB option that achieves a maximum sequential read speed of 14,400 MB/s.

The new capacity tier expands Lexar's lineup with an 8TB option that achieves a maximum sequential read speed of 14,400 MB/s.

The NM1090 PRO operates as a PCIe Gen5 solid-state drive built around Realtek's SM2508 controller, which is manufactured using a 6nm process node. Lexar positions this model as its highest-performance consumer SSD, and the new 8TB option extends that capability to larger workloads.

Spec comparison

  • Capacity: 8TB (new)
  • Max Sequential Read: 14,400 MB/s
  • Max Sequential Write: 13,400 MB/s
  • Max Random Read (IOPS): 2,000K
  • Max Random Write (IOPS): 2,100K

The 8TB variant delivers maximum sequential read speeds of up to 14,400 MB/s and maximum sequential write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s. Random access performance reaches 2,000K IOPS for reads and 2,100K IOPS for writes, supporting heavy multitasking and large file transfers.

Lexar rates the endurance of this capacity tier at 5,600 terabytes written over a five-year warranty period. The drive maintains these specifications across its full range of available sizes while relying on the same controller architecture to manage data flow and wear leveling.
